Juventus are following the progress of São Paulo defender Lucas Silva, according to Calcio News 24.
The 17 year-old made his first league start in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat Fluminense.
Normally a centre-back, he was fielded at right full-back. After a difficult 45 minutes, Mateus Caramelo replaced him at half-time.
Lucas captained Brazil’s under-17 side at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in October. He played every minute as the Seleção progressed to the quarter-finals, where they were beaten 11-10 on penalties. It had finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.
It is unclear whether Juventus, who reportedly bid €10 million for Botafogo defender Dória in July, will intensify their interest in Lucas over the short-term.
