Atlético Head coach Cuca is currently waiting to see whether Ronaldinho will be fit for next month’s FIFA Club World Cup.

The Porto Alegre-native is currently out injured after suffering a thigh injury during training in September. He is, however, expected to be available for Atlético’s tournament opener against Raja Casablanca, Auckland City or Monterrey on 18 December in Marrakech.

After a successful spell in Europe where he played for Paris Saint-Germain, Milan and, most notably, Barcelona – he won five major honours and was named FIFA World Player of the Year whilst with Catalan side – Ronaldinho returned to Brazil in January 2011, signing with Flamengo.

He won the 2011 Campeonato Carioca, before cancelling his contract in May 2012, due to alleged unpaid wages. He agreed an initial six-month deal at Atlético Mineiro a month later.
