Kaká insists he will remain an attacking midfielder despite experimenting in a deeper position.
The 31 year-old was fielded as a holding midfielder during Milan’s 3-1 friendly victory against Young Boys on Saturday.
The Brazilian maintains, however, that a permanent positional switch is unlikely.
"We tried something out in Switzerland, but it was only a test," he said, as reported by Football Italia.
"I will continue to play as an attacking midfielder. The coach and I agree about that."
Milan vice-president and C.E.O. Adriano Galliani echoed Kaká’s stance.
"Kaká will not play in front of the defence because coach [Massimiliano] Allegri wants to keep him upfront," he stated.
"It was just an experiment on Saturday. In principle he will still be a playmaker."
The friendly was arranged to maintain fitness over the international break.
Swiss midfielder Raphael Nuzzolo gave Young Boys a first half lead. Kaká equalised on 54 minutes from the spot, before Riccardo Saponara and Bryan Cristante secured the win.
