Milan forward Robinho may yet rejoin Santos.

The 29 year-old has long been linked with a return to the Vila Belmiro-based club.

Talks took place during the summer, but disagreements over the transfer fee forced the deal to be abandoned.

Robinho eventually signed a two year contract extension with Milan in July. He was not expected to leave before it expired in 2016.

TuttoMercatoWeb insists, however, that Santos may renew their interest in January.

Any agreement would depend on the Brazilian side satisfying Milan’s demands, with the Rossoneri unlikely to lower their summer asking price.

But with Santos likely to lose exciting young forward Neílton, either in January or at the end of the season, they may have to be more flexible. Bringing back Robinho – a club legend – would appease fans who will be frustrated at the departure of a player considered Neymar’s heir.

Robinho, who last played for Santos in 2010, has made a reasonable start to the new season. He has netted twice – against Cagliari and Bologna – in seven starts.
