Neymar believes that he can form a history-making partnership with new Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi.

The Brazil international, who will wear the No.11 shirt at his new club, finally moved to the Camp Nou in a €57 million deal from Santos in June, following months of speculation.

The prospect of Neymar linking up with the four-time Ballon d"Or winner has got the entire footballing world talking, with Fabio Capello insisting the pair will be “unbeatable" together, and he is just as excited and optimistic about it.

“[I hope it will] be a partnership to make history," the 21-year-old told reporters on Friday, as reported on Goal.com.

“We have everything for that to happen and it"s an honour, a dream come true, to play alongside the best in the world and that is what persuaded me choose my European team."

Neymar, who won the Golden Ball at the recent Confederations Cup, signed a five-year contract with Barcelona upon his arrival.

He also admitted it was difficult to leave Brazil and his boyhood club Santos but is focused on his new life in Spain.

He added: “I had a great story with Santos. But now I have a new club, a new life and everything is focused on Barcelona."

Neymar is scheduled to begin training with his new Barca team-mates on July 25.
