The agent of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has revealed that his client would jump at the chance of returning to PSV.
Gomes left the Dutch club after four years for White Hart Lane in 2008, but after two error-strewn seasons, the Brazilian fell behind Brad Friedel and then Hugo Lloris in the goalkeeping pecking order.
The 32-year-old spent the second half of last season with Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim and is now looking for a permanent exit, and his representative has revealed that Gomes would relish the opportunity to return to the Philips Stadion.
Heurelho had a fantastic and victorious history at PSV. He experienced the best time of his career there. To date he still receives messages, letters etc. from the PSV fans,” Alex Soares told Sky Sports.
“Heurelho is a Tottenham player and he is under contract. I can confirm that we have not received any official offer or contact from PSV in relation to Heurelho’s return.
“Maybe the rumours around his move to PSV is due to his previous years at the club and the PSV fans’ wishes. I am sure that if PSV want him back, Gomes’ decision will be very easy to take.”
Gomes made 65 starts during his first two seasons at Tottenham but failed to make any during the two following campaigns.
