Philippe Coutinho scored a penalty as Liverpool strolled to a comfortable 4-0 victory against Championship side Preston North End.
Coutinho set proceedings in motion with a coolly taken penalty in the opening 15 minutes before Jordon Ibe added a second with a superb finish on the edge of the box.
Brendan Rodgers made mass substitutions as all eleven players made way at half-time for a new team which included Lucas Leiva as vice-captain.
Raheem Sterling then netted a third by rounding the goalkeeper after a superb defence-splitting pass from new signing Iago Aspas.
Aspas himself then rounded off the victory with a 20-yard strike which went straight through the hapless Preston keeper to make it 4-0 on the afternoon.
Liverpool will now head off on their tour of Asia and Australia which begins with Indonesia during the midweek.
