Milan are reportedly the latest club with an interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich are all said to be considering making a move for the midfielder, who has Brazilian heritage, in light of his unusual contract situation.

It is understood that the player’s buyout clause is now at €18 million, after a clause in his 2011-signed contract dropped it down from an original €90m figure.

Barca are reportedly prepared to lose the 22-year-old if his wish is to leave as the club are not going to look to override the situation with a new contract offer.

Any move for the youngster at his reduced price must be completed by August 1, at which time the clause jumps back up to €90m.

Premier League champions United have been listed recently as most interested in a move, after Sir Alex Ferguson made informal enquiries regarding Thiago’s availability two years ago.

However, AS have reported that neighbours City have made the player aware of their interest and willingness to buy him out of his Camp Nou contract.

The Spain international previously stated that he will not decide on his future until after his participation in the European Under-21 Championship is over.
