Neymar has thanked Santos for “nine incredible years” after he confirmed his immediate transfer to Barcelona.
The 21-year-old will sign for the Blaugrana next week on a five-year deal thought to be worth around €7 million per season, with Santos getting around €28m.
Neymar has admitted that he will miss life in his home country but can’t wait for the challenge ahead.
“I am with my family and friends and they have have helped me to write these words, but now I cannot wait until Monday,” he posted on his official Twitter page.
“My family and friends now know my decision. On Monday I will sign my contract with Barcelona.
“My feelings for Santos will never change and are eternal. I want to thank the Santos fans for nine incredible years.”
The Peixe accepted offers from both Barca and La Liga rivals Real Madrid, before Neymar chose the Catalan giants.
Neymar is set to make his final appearance for his boyhood club against Flamengo this evening.
