Philadelphia Union have officially announced that they parted ways with Freddy Adu, who will join Brazilian Série A club Bahia.

As part of the deal, Kléberson will travel in the opposite direction to join the MLS club until the end of the season where he will take a designated player and an international roster spot.

Philadelphia Union’s Team Manager John Hackworth told the official site the following about Kléberson: “We’re excited to have a player with his kind of experience join an already talented roster.

“Kléberson has had success at the world’s highest level of competition – both on a club and international level – and we hope he can add another dimension to our team”.

He also thanked Freddy Adu: “We would like to thank Freddy Adu for his service to the Union over the past two years and wish him the best of luck as he continues his career in Brazil”.

Freddy Adu’s transfer to Bahia will be completed once his work visa is ready. The Brazilian club need to register him before April 5, when the international transfer window closes in Brazil.
