21:26: We’re waiting for a full match report from our own Tom Etherington who is reporting from Stamford Bridge. Expect that to go up momentarily…

21:25: Fabio Capello’s men were much more resilient and looked well worth the win before Fred’s late intervention. Kerzhakov will be ruing those missed chances in the first half.

21:23 – Scolari will be happy with that late, late goal from Fred, but the goal has masked a poor performance for Brazil.

90’+3 – FULL-TIME

90’+2 – Very nearly a sting in the tale as Shirokov slices the ball wide in front of goal but the Brazil defence breathes a sigh of relief.

90’+1 – That was unexpected, and Brazil are gunning for a second now.

90′ – GOAL! Brazil 1-1 Russia (Fred) Hang on a minute! Marcelo exchanges a brilliant one-two with Hulk and pulls it back for Fred to tap in from six yards!

89′ – It just hasn’t happened tonight for Brazil as we enter the final minute.

87′ – And Scolari won’t be happy with that. Hernanes wastes the opportunity by lashing the free-kick well over the bar.

86′ – Yeshchenko picks up a booking for hacking down Hulk just outside the box. Free-kick to Brazil.

85′ – SUBSTITUTION – Worry for Fabio Capello as Zhirkov seems to have picked up an injury and limps off to be replaced by Grigoriev.

84′ – Fred darts in at the near post to meet a cross from Hulk but the Fluminense striker couldn’t find the target.

83′ – Russia are pinging the ball around midfield. No sign of a Brazil comeback.

80′ – A free-kick from Hulk travels straight through the crowd and into Gabulov’s hands.

79′ – Brazil just don’t look like scoring as Russia deal with yet another cross, this time from Marcelo.

77′ – SUBSTITUTION – And one less man to make it happen as Kaka heads off the pitch to be replaced by Diego Costa.

76′ – Brazil need a moment of magic, and quickly. A long range effort by Fernando whistles wide of the post.

73′ – Before the madness of that goal, Hernanes picked up a booking for a high challenge on Yeshchenko.

72′ – GOAL! Brazil 0-1 Russia (Fayzulin) My word. No less than three attempts at goal during a mad goalmouth scramble, but Fayzulin finally lashes home to give Russia the lead.

71′ – Less than twenty minutes left in the game but no sign of a goal.

70′ – A curling effort by Neymar is easily caught by Gabulov.

69′ – Brazil are huffing and puffing but the Russian defence is holding firm at the moment.

67′ – While that subsititution was made, Shirokov had to limp off the pitch but the Russia captain is back on now.

66′ – SUBSTITUTION – Hulk comes on for Oscar.

62′ – Another chance for Neymar but this time Oscar’s delivery is too high for the forward and Kaka is unable to get his shot off from the loose ball.

60′ – Berezutski is back on the pitch and seems to be no worse for wear.

59′ – The unfortunate victim of that David Luiz free-kick was Berezutski who is down clutching his face.

58′ – Free-kick in prime David Luiz territory, but the defender smacks the ball stright into the wall.

56′ – Brazil didn’t get the final ball right in the first-half and that looks set to continue in the second-half.

55′ – Kaka nearly dribbles past the entire Russian defence but the ball is finally snatched from underneath him for a corner.

53′ – Oscar finds himself behind the Russian defence but the Chelsea starlet is flagged for offside.

51′ – Neymar nearly catches Gabulov out at the near post with a cross-cum-shot, but the Russian deals with it eventually.

49′ – Kaka will want to step up his game in the second half. The Real Madrid playmaker was nonexistent in the first half.

47′ – Zhirkov gets his first touch of the game as he meets a cross but the defender fails to test Cesar.

46′ – Russia gets the second half underway.

20:30 – The teams are back on the pitch. A raft of subsitutions for Russia with former Chelsea defender Yuri Zhirkov amongst them.

20:17 – A stalemate as both sides are unable to break the deadlock. Both sides will think they should be ahead as Neymar and Kerzhakov will be ruing their missed chances.

20:15 GMT – HALF-TIME

44′ – Kerzhakov finds himself in space yet again as he spins and shoots from 20 yards but the shot is well over the bar.

43′ – A long ball from Marcelo finds Neymar in space and he lays it off to Fred who attempts an ambitious backheeled shot which ends up in the keeper’s hands.

42′ – Kerzhakov and Fayzulin are proving to be a thorn in the Brazil defence.

40′ – A flowing Russian counterattack nearly results in a goal as Cesar parries a Fayzulin strike into the side netting.

39′ – More intricate passing ends with the ball finding a Russian shirt. Final ball just isn’t there.

37′ – Mexican waves at Stamford Bridge. Fans are getting a bit restless. The match needs a goal to liven it up.

36′ – Some excellent passing in midfield nearly releases Neymar but the pass is snuffed out.

33′ – Fred in action for the first time as he comes within inches of meeting Kaka’s cross.

32′ – A shot from from Fayzulin is charged down by Fernando and Brazil lauch a counterattack which ends with Oscar hesitating over a shot.

30′ – Brazil dominating proceedings now.

29′ – A shove from Dani Alves gives Russia another free-kick.

27′ – Marcelo slips a ball into Neymar’s path but the Santos star lashes it high, wide and not very handsome.

24′ – A period of sustained possession ends with a wayward ball from Hernanes in Neymar’s direction.

21′ – Brazil look far more comfortable now.

20′ – Another chance goes begging as Neymar fails to control the ball when one on one with the keeper after a superb David Luiz pass.

19′ – Golden chance for Brazil as Neymar just fails to turn in a delightful cross from Oscar.

17′ – Excellent run from Marcelo and he is brought down by Ignashevich on the left hand side of the box.

16′ – Referee Howard Webb penalises Neymar for a swing of the elbow, no card though.

15′ – Cesar deals with a tame shot from Bystrov.

14′ – It’s corner after corner for Capello’s men at the minute. This one comes to nothing.

12′ – Kerzhakov misses a sitter! The striker is yards out and Hernanes did well to block the shot after yet more poor defending.

11′ – Kerzhakov earns another free-kick for Russia. Brazil conceding silly fouls at the minute.

9′ – Brazil make a mess of defending two successive corners, the ball falls to Kerzhakov and the Zenit St Petersburg hitman lashes it wide.

8′-  Fayzulin is chopped down by Hernanes. free-kick in a dangerous position.

7′ – Very scrappy so far, neither team getting on the ball.
