Seleção boss Luiz Felipe Scolari hailed the performance of Santos sensation Neymar as one of his best games for the country so far.

Scolari believes his team carried out his instructions perfectly and if Italy hadn’t scored when they did then they would have gone on to win the game.

“Neymar had one of his best games. Tactically it was perfect, the team did everything that we asked them to do. It is important that the Brazilian team do this, within their characteristics,” he said.

Scolari also praised the performances of Lazio’s Hernanes and Grêmio’s Fernando, for their tireless work in the Seleção midfield.

“Fernando and Hernanes are two players who are playing in a key area for the team. They were pretty good. We have two new players for the future, who can be satisfied with their work,” he said.

Scolari also claimed that Italy’s first goal was the turning point in the game, and that if the Seleção had scored another goal, ‘it would have been very different’.
