Sambafoot takes a look at last night’s Campeonato Mineiro action…

Cruzeiro extended their lead at the top of the table after a five-goal thriller as they beat Araxá 3-2.

Araxá took the lead through Rodrigão as the defender tucked away a header from a corner just before the break.

However, two quick-fire goals in two second half minutes soon saw Cruzeiro on top as Paulão and Borges made it 2-1.

But Fabricio Carvelho revived Araxá’s hopes of a win with an equaliser just minutes later but Borges was on hand again to secure all three points for Cruzeiro.

The other game featured Villa Nova and Caldense as the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw with goals from Rodrigo Dias and Rossini.
