Bayern Munich defender Dante has revealed that his recent call-up to the national team is even more excited than the first.

The 29-year-old made his international debut in a friendly defeat to England at Wembley last month, following some stand-out performances in the Bundesliga.

Luiz Felipe Scolari has now recalled Dante for upcoming friendlies with Italy on March 21 and Russia at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge four days later.

Dante said: “This call-up is even more exciting than the first call-up.

“The first one was wonderful but this is great too, and it’s important to enjoy every moment. I’m very pleased to be called up to the national team, and even more so because my partner [at Bayern] Luiz Gustavo will be there.

"Now my focus is working hard and helping the team prepare for the Confederations Cup."

The former Borussia Mönchengladbach player has organised a back four that has conceded just eight times in 24 league games at Bayern this season.

Dante will line up alongside fellow defenders Dani Alves, Filipe Luis, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Dedé and Marcelo.
