Lazio are still interested in signing Santos midfielder Felipe Anderson after they almost signed the player in the January transfer window, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

Anderson, 19, has only just broken into the Santos starting line-up after former midfielder Ganso moved to São Paulo and many people were surprised that the Italian giants would be willing to take the player with so little experience.

However, it seems that Lazio were not put off by the move breaking down in January and are said to believe they can seal the deal in July when the transfer window opens again.

Santos only own 50% of the player’s rights and are denying any attempts to move the player on since the break down of the Lazio move.

“We have not been spoken to since last month, we are not aware of anything,” said Santos Vice President Odílio Rodrigues to Lancenet!

The other 50% of the player is owned by a group of European entrepreneurs and they are said to have a deal in place with Lazio already, leaving it just down to the club to agree with the Italians.
