Brazilian playmaker Kaká is expected to start for Real Madrid against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday as coach José Mourinho will be without six first team players.

Kaká, 30, has been told he is no longer needed at the Santiago Bernabéu and was close to returning to his former club AC Milan during the January transfer window.

He moved to Madrid for €65 million in June 2009 and arrived as one of the best players in the world.

However, a number of injuries have hindered his career at the Spanish giants and his form and confidence have suffered to the point where he is no longer seen as a vital part of Mourinho’s squad and is the player with the fewest amount of minutes this season, apart youth team graduates Morata and Nacho and new signing Diego Lopez.

Madrid will be without goalkeeper Iker Casillas and midfielders Mesut Ozil and Xabi Alonso through injury against Rayo, along with Alvaro Arbeloa, Luka Modric and Gonzalo Higuain through suspension.
