Barcelona have received some encouraging news ahead of their trip to Málaga on Sunday as defender Adriano has resumed training after a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old last featured for the Catalan giants during a 4-1 win over Atlético Madrid on December 16.

However, the Brazilian wing-back is now close to making his comeback after Barça announced on their official website that Adriano has resumed regular training.

Adriano has scored five goals in eleven appearances this season, as the Blaugrana currently sit atop of the league table with 52 points from 18 game.

Barça, who hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Atlético, travel to La Rosaleda Stadium on Sunday evening to take on fourth-placed Málaga, on the back of a 5-0 win over Cordoba in the Copa del Rey.
