Real Madrid’s Marcelo is set to return to first team action in the midweek Copa del Rey clash with Celta Vigo according to Spanish publication Marca

The Brazilian left back has been ruled out of action since October 14 when he suffered a broken metatarsal that ruled him out for nearly three months.

Coach Jose Mourinho will be delighted to welcome back his first choice left back after being forced to field a makeshift defence in the Brazilian’s absence with Portuguese left back Fabio Coentrão also injured.

Marcelo underwent an operation in Amsterdam in preparation for his comeback and Real will want the full back to be match fit in time for Manchester United’s visit in the first half of February.

The Seleção star has been a mainstay in the Real Madrid side since joining in 2006 from Fluminense making 218 appearances and scoring 17 goals.
