Flamengo Vice President Wallim Vasconcelos has claimed AC Milan star Robinho has indicated he wants to join the Rubro-Negro.

The Brazilian striker, who seems to be on his way out of the San Siro door, has previously admitted he is hoping for a move back to his homeland.

Former club Santos, who have already had a bid rejected by Milan, looks to be the likely destination for the 28-year-old.

However, Flamengo could also enter the fray according to Vasconcelos’ recent claims.

He said: “Robinho has already indicated he wants to play for Flamengo, which gives us an advantage over the others.

“But for now, there is no contact between the two clubs.”

AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani is expected to fly out to Brazil this weekend for negotiations with interested clubs.
