A source close to AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has revealed to Lancenet! that the Seleção star is keen to return to Brazil.

Pato, 23, is the number one target of recently crowned Club World Cup champions Corinthians and the source, who asked not to be named, believes that the player would relish a return to his homeland and his relationship with Barbara Berlusconi, daughter of AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, would not jeopardise the move.

The former Internacional striker has suffered with injury a lot in the past few years and thinks that a return to Brazil may help him get over his problem.

“Will he come to Brazil? I know that he has thought about it. The therapists here are much better than those of Italy, then he wants to come and be treated, though he is well improved from the last injury. Everything depends on him and his manager (Gilmar Veloz). I think it will set starting next week,” said the source.

Corinthians would like to take the player on loan, but Italian Sky Sports website Calcio Mercato say that the club have offered €15 million for the full economic rights.

And the source said that the player’s relationship with Barbara Berlusconi, which has just been rekindled, would not affect a possible move.

“This will influence a lot, they are really well again, and got back. But everything depends on him, he will choose.”
