Santos are ready to announce the signing of former player Robinho from AC Milan this week, according to Brazilian media.

The 28-year-old forward has long been linked with a move back to his first club, where he spent three years between 2002 and 2005.

Robinho recently reignited rumours of a transfer by claiming “several clubs are talking to Milan”, despite club executives playing down the possibility of him leaving during the January transfer window.

President Silvio Berlusconi has recently confessed that the striker was “changing his mind” about wanting to quit San Siro.

Reports suggest Santos already have a deal in place with Robinho and are preparing to make the announcement as early as Saturday.

It is rumoured Milan would benefit from the transfer, worth cash plus midfielder Felipe Anderson for a total €8m move.

The Brazil international recently said: “I have history with Santos and so it won’t be difficult for them to reach a deal with me.

My love for that club is eternal, but there are also other clubs interested and who are talking to Milan. I am a professional and will see what is best for me.”
