The legal director of Palmeiras, Piraci Oliveira, has hit out at the clubs former president Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo for his poor management during his tenure.

Oliveira took to social networking site Twitter to berate Belluzzo for the deals he made over the new arena, due to open in April 2013, and in bringing midfielder Jorge Valdívia back to the club.

He said: "The worst deal in our history was the contract for the operation of the new Arena, logically, without considering the hiring of Valdivia …"

The director also hit out at the current deal with Adidas, suggesting that the marketing of the club left a lot to be desired, before giving the next president some tips on turning the club around.

"The next president should take these big steps in the first week – increase fees [for members] /get rid of the B team/[review the] brand licensing structure."

2012 started well for Palmeiras with their victory in the Copa do Brasil, but ended in tears as they were relegated from the Brazilian top flight.
