Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has praised Brazilian representatives Corinthians but claims that his club are favourites for the Club World Cup.

The Blues could face Corinthians in the final of the competition if they win the semifinal and Torres praised the quality of their players.

“To me, being a favorite means nothing. The only thing that can bring is more pressure. Ultimately, whether or not someone is a favorite, we must prove it on the field.”

“We saw the match against Santos in the semifinal of the Copa Libertadores and some other games. They have excellent players, as always is the case with the Brazilian clubs.”

“If they face Chelsea, the whole world will be watching them play and they have the opportunity to come to Europe. It’s a great opportunity for them, while for us it’s very dangerous.”

The striker also admitted that playing in Japan will be a unique experience for Chelsea: “We’ve never been there and in Asia there is always a totally different environment, not only the public, also in climatic conditions, especially in the way and South American teams face the competition.”

“We need to prepare psychologically, and hopefully get in a position to win the tournament. We are taking it seriously.”
