Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro has been passed fit for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Liverpool despite suffering a stomach injury on Sunday.

The Brazilian was stretchered off in Spurs’ 3-1 win over West Ham after taking a blow to the stomach but has recovered in time for this evening’s game at White Hart Lane.

Sandro, 23, who has made 13 appearances for Spurs so far this season, took to Twitter after the game to reassure fans that he was fine.

He tweeted: “Hey guys, thanks for all the messages! I’m so pleased with our win today. I had a hard hit, but I’m feeling good! #sandroBeast #superSandro.”

Sandro has been a dominant force for Spurs this season and is therefore one of the 30 nominees for Sambafoot’s Samba Gold Trophy 2012.

The public can vote for the midfielder from Saturday, 1 December and throughout December for the trophy, which is awarded to the best performing Brazilian based in Europe.

Fellow Brazilian Lucas Leiva will miss the game for Liverpool but is nearing a return to first-team action following a thigh injury.
