Mano Menezes has been handed a second bout of bad news this weekend as Hulk looks set to miss Brazil’s friendly with Colombia after suffering a thigh injury in action for Zenit.

The news follows Barcelona’s medical staff confirming that full-back Adriano would also miss the encounter, putting Brazil in a difficult situation with Dani Alves and Fabio Santos the only recognised full-backs in the squad.

Zenit overcame Rostov 2-1 on Sunday, but it is thought that the Russian side will be without Hulk for at least two weeks with his latest injury problem.

Straight after the fixture, manager Luciano Spalletti had revealed the issue, saying: “He suffered a thigh problem, but it’s too early to say anything. Let’s wait a little longer.”

Hulk’s absence will likely afford an opportunity for in-form São Paulo forward Lucas Moura on the right-side of Brazil’s attack, unless Menezes chooses to approach the fixture with a different formation to recent encounters.
