Botafogo midfielder Clarence Seedorf limped out of his sides 4-0 win over Atletico-GO at the weekend after suffering an injury to his right thigh when taking a corner in the first half. However, Botafogo’s doctor, Victor Baitelli, is optimistic that the Dutchman will return to the field before the end of the season.

Baitelli told Lancenet! that the injury to the star was not as bad as first feared. He said: “Will he play again this year? Yes he will. Seedorf back later this year.”

The player underwent tests on the thigh to judge the extent of the damage and see when he could return to training with the ball and Baitelli revealed that the 36-year-old will receive physiotherapy full time and with intensive effort will return to the team soon.

“Now the treatment is directed to physical therapy to decrease pain. The part of physiology will come, possibly next week. It is delicate to tell what he is thinking, but gives him the will to see who wanted to play. He is in pain, it’s normal but it will soon pass with treatment,” he added.
