Atlético Mineiro’s Jô believes they can still win the title after their 3-2 victory over Fluminense, despite the title leaders having a six point advantage.

The former Manchester City striker, who scored two goals in the win, told reporters: “These are the two clubs that are still in it. We showed that we are still alive in the competitiom. If we can play like that, we can challenge for the title.”

Jô’s teammate, Leandro Donizete also agreed: “We won and put pressure on Fluminense. Let’s see how they behave under pressure. We can focus on the game against Flamengo.”

The playmaker also added that the win was the right result on the day: “If we didn’t win, it would have been a great injustice. We played better and it was a deserved victory.”

Atlético Mineiro now turn their attention to the upcoming Brasileirão fixture against Flamengo on Wednesday, with six games left to play in the campaign.
