Lucas, 25, made the hypothetical comments to Redmen TV during a forum with Liverpool FC fansites last week, excerpts from which have been emerging over the last few days.
Questioned as to which Brazilians he would sign if given free reign at the club, the former Grêmio star answered: ‘I would sign two: Neymar and Thiago Silva. For me, Thiago Silva is the best centre-back in the world.
“Neymar is already proving himself in Brazil and I’m sure he will be coming to Europe very soon, but I don’t think he will be very cheap!”
Lucas is currently recovering from an injury suffered in August and, although no date has been officially set, expects to return sometime in late November.
