Brazil striker Hulk has told teammates that they must improve against Anderlecht in order to stay in the Champions League.
Hulk, 26, told reporters: “We just need to show what we can do and win.”
Reflecting on Zenit’s previous defeat to AC Milan: “Yes, it was a crucial match and we needed to get points, but nothing’s lost yet.
“In the game itself, I felt great and felt just how important the match was, but there was no chance of getting especially upset.”
The Seleção striker has been struggling with injury problems of late, and told reporters: “My goal is to help the team to win, but because of possible injuries I can’t always do that.”
Hulk is currently on international duty with the national team as they face Iraq on October 11 and Japan on October 16.
Zenit St Petersburg will face Belgian side Anderlecht in a Champions League double header after the international break.
