Chelsea defender David Luiz is fit to play against Danish champions FC Nordsjaelland in the Champions League on Tuesday, having travelled with the squad to Denmark.

David Luiz, 25, was forced off early in the Blues tie with Arsenal on Saturday and was considered a doubt for the second-game of the Champions League group stage phase.

The news was revealed on the club’s official website on Tuesday morning, along with the news that striker Daniel Sturridge is unfit to play.

For Chelsea, the two fixtures with the Danish side are considered must-win encounters, given the presence of both Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk in the same group.

Following Chelsea’s draw at home to the Italian side, it could be Nordsjaelland who decide the outcome of the group, should anyone slip-up against them.

It is thought that English midfielder Frank Lampard will return to the starting line-up for the game, which could see either Ramires or Oscar miss out on a place in the first eleven.
