Edmílson has recommended that his former club São Paulo should invest in Real Madrid playmaker Kaká rather than Ganso from Santos.

The 36-year-old was a guest on Brazilian show “Papo Reto” this week and stated that Kaká would be better suited to his former club São Paulo than Ganso.

Edmílson said: “If I were São Paulo, I would invest in Kaká.

”He has a great marketing power, is still performing very well and knows the club.

”It would still be expensive but it would be good for Brazil. I would hire him instead of Ganso.”

Kaká has continuously been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and his wife recently revealed that the Seleção international will be returning to Brazil if he leaves Spain.

São Paulo would be Kaká’s likely destination, as the town of his first club, but the Peixe are reportedly interested in Ganso from cross-city rivals Santos.

Ganso has suffered an onslaught of boos, abusive chants and coin throwing at the hands of Santos’ fans recently due to comments he made regarding São Paulo.

The 22-year-old said ”it would be a pleasure to wear the shirt of São Paulo” after he had expressed his desire to leave the club.

However, the Santos board have reportedly rejected a bid from São Paulo and will not let Ganso leave for less than his asking price.
