Brasileirão: Round 6

Corinthians 2-1 Palmeiras

Corinthians came from behind to pick up their first win of the season against Palmeiras at the Pacaembu.

Mazinho gave the Verdão the lead in the 3rd minute before Romarinho found the back of the net twice halfway through the game.

The result means Corinthians move up from the bottom of the table into seventeenth place, while Palmeiras remain in nineteenth position.

 

Grêmio 2-0 Flamengo

Goals from Marcelo Moreno (32′) and Werley (48′) saw Grêmio to a 2-0 victory at home against a Flamengo side who were unbeaten prior to the game.

 

Figueirense 1-1 Bahia

Figueirense and Bahia played out a 1-1 draw in Santa Catarina.

Julio Cesar gave the home side the lead in the 51st minute before Vander curled in the equaliser 78th minute.

 

Botafogo 1-2 Ponte Preta

Ponte Preta picked up their second win of the season away against Botafogo thanks to Ricardinho’s 53rd minute winner.

Nikáo gave the Paulista side the lead in the 15th minute before Andrezinho levelled the scoring from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute.

 

Santos 2-2 Coritiba

Copa do Brasil finalists Coritiba managed to hold Santos to a 2-2 draw at the Vila-Belmiro.

Edu Dracena headed the home side in front in the 31st minute before Rafinha equalised three minutes after the half-time break.

Neymar restored Santos’ lead in the 70th minute, but Lincoln’s 74th minute converted penalty ensured Coritiba travelled back to Paraná with a point.

 

Sport Recife 0-2 Internacional

Internacional claimed a 2-0 away win at Sport Recife thanks to a 13th minute own goal from Bruno Aguiar, and a Leandro Damião tap-in seven minutes before the interval.

 

Atlético Goianiense 1-4 Fluminense

Fluminense moved into fifth place by virtue of their 4-1 away thumping of Atlético Goianiense.

Ernandes put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute before Samuel Rosa equalised six minutes later.

Gum headed Fluminense into the lead in the 25th minute and a horrific own goal from Gilson made it 3-1.

Three minutes into stoppage time, Deco sealed the Tricolor Carioca’s win from the penalty spot after Marcos Junior was hacked down in the box by Gilson.
