The 21-year-old has been suffering from muscle pain in his right thigh and hasn’t been able to train with the Peixe since last week.
Rafael has already been ruled out of the Santos’ Campeonato Paulista game against Comercial on Wednesday, and will be assessed by the clubs medical staff on Thursday – where a final decision will be made on whether he will travel to Switzerland with the rest of the Brazilian squad.
Brazil take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday 28th February at the AFG Arena in St. Gallen.
