The former Porto player was close to joining Palmeiras in January, but negotiations between the two clubs broke down.
Carlos Alberto, 27, has been maintaining his fitness at São Januario in recent weeks, but has been training away from the Cruz de Malta’s first-team.
”He’s not in the commissions plans. We are working with the representatives to send him to another club,” Freitas told Rádio Globo.
Carlos Alberto’s contract with Vasco runs until June 2013.
