Along with Ronaldinho, Silva was one of the two over 23-year-olds called up to Dunga"s Brazilian squad at the 2008 Olympics, but the ‘Monstro‘ had to settle for a place on the bench making just three appearances in the competition.

However four years on, Silva is now determined to hit top form with Milan so Mano Menezes will give him the chance to play in London this summer.

"I have a big desire [to play at the Olympics]. Last time I went, I was over age and I got injured before the first game and then I didn"t return as a starter," Silva told Rádio Brasil.

"I really want to participate, to be one of the three over aged players. I believe it will be two centre-backs and two wingers.

"I"m expecting [to play], I"m really anxious. But, first of all I have to think about Milan. If I keep playing well, helping my team, then I"ll be remembered."
