The 26-year old playmaker, who arrived from Gaziantepspor in December, is set to line up along side Fred, Deco, Rafael Sobis, Rafael Moura and Thiago Neves this season, as Fluminense attempt to win their first Copa Libertadores title.

Pundits in Brazil are tipping Flu as one of the favourites to win South America’s most prestigious football competition but Wagner insists him and his team-mates must gel well as team if the club are going to have a successful season.

He said: ”Fluminense are forming a great team with two or three players for each posistion.”

”We want to be champions and to honour the colours of the Tricolor on the pitch.”

”If the group gel, we will do well in 2012. Off the field we can say that we have the best squad in Brazil, but we need to prove this on the field, it’s no use just being the best on paper.”
