The former Olmpique Lyonnais striker threatened to quit playing for Flu last August following a confrontation with handful of the clubs fans on a night out in Rio de Janeiro.

However five months on, the 25-year old insists he couldn’t be more happier with life at Laranjeiras despite receiving offers from clubs in Europe.

”Europe does not seduce me anymore. I have a career project totally dedicated to Fluminense,” Fred explained to Globoesporte.

”It’s a club that treats me very well, like an idol. I’m given a lot of affection and support and I have the confidence of the entire board.”

”My intention is to stay at Laranjeiras. I want to become an idol here and to make history with goals and titles.”

”Of course I’m a professional, I’m always listening to offers that come in, but Europe doesn’t seduce me anymore.”

Fred’s contract with Fluminense runs until July 2015.
