The 31-year old midfielder is hoping to leave Stamford Bridge this January after struggling to cement a spot in Andre Villas-Boas’ starting eleven since the start of the season.

Malouda has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but the Frenchman has made it known he wants to end his playing career in Brazil – the homeland of his wife.

However, a move to Palmeiras has been ruled out, as the clubs director of football Roberto Frizzo claims the midfielders ex-boss Scolari is not interested in bringing him to the club.

”Palmeiras are usually offered many players and Malouda was offered too but there was no interest,” Frizzo told ESPN Brasil.

”Every time that we are offered a player we talk with the coach and Felipão (Scolari) was not interested.”
