With just eighteen months left on his contract, Adriano has been talking to the “A Tribuna” newspaper about the likelihood of a European move once the Libertadores campaign is completed.

“Although I can not reveal the time, there is a strong possibility that after I will leave in the middle of the year, after I return to action.”

Adriano also spoke honestly to the publication about his recent injury travails and the recovery period.

“It’s been bad (standing still), because playing football is what I most like to do and in recent months I have only rested,” said the 24-year-old academy product. “But, my parents support me and my family is crucial to my quick recovery!”

Adriano broke his ankle in November and will return early this year, with Santos missing a suitable direct replacement in his absence.
