The player will undertake a medical and then meet the coaching staff of his new team.
“I am very happy, it’s a great challenge, but I’m glad to be here. I had two very good years with Fluminense and I hope to repeat this with Bordeaux,” Mariano said.
As the transfer window only opens in France on January 1 (Sunday), Mariano can only sign the contract after the new year. Still, the player will be officially unveiled at Bordeaux on Friday by President Jean-Louis Triaud and coach Francis Gillot.
Fluminense, who held 10% of the ownership rights of the athlete will pocket €350,000 – with the total transfer valued at €3.5 million.
