Jorginho, a former idol at Flamengo and World Cup winner in 1994, has gone on to achieve success in his opening forays into the world of management in recent times.

Dunga’s assistant throughout the former-captain’s period in charge of the Seleção, Jorginho made his great managerial breakthrough this season at Figueirense when he guided the Florianopolis side to a shock seventh place in the Brasileirão.

The success earned the coach a job at Japanese heavyweights Kashima Antlers and also the Sambafoot Manager of the Year award for 2011.

Vote 1 – Hulk

“Without even looking here, because I know he’s nominated, I choose Hulk from FC Porto,” said the rising managerial star. “He had a wonderful season and it could not have gone any better.

“For some time now, he has been one of the best players in the Portuguese league and has had a great year.”

Vote 2 – Thiago Silva

“Undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, one of the world’s best defenders.

“He is a player that can make a difference by his way of playing. He has had a great campaign.”

Vote 3 – Fernandinho

“A player who I had the opportunity to spend some time with, at national team friendlies, and that is now a mainstay of the Brazilian national team after playing very well.

“He is a player of great quality and I’m sure he will be very helpful in the future for Mano.”
