Oswaldo de Oliveira currently has contract with Japanese side, Kashima Antlers, which expires on the 1st January, 2012.

Speaking to Botafogo’s official website, Oswaldo is already focused on working for the Alvinegro.

”Me and Botafogo already agreed a future situation to start working in January. Even from Japan, I will start developing a plan with the club’s directors, especially when it comes to contracts and important details for the next season. It will be primordial to make the work advance. We have to put the past a side and get ready to conquer our goals in the future,” confirmed the sixty one year old coach.

Former England manager, Sven Goran Eriksson, was also in the running for the job, but the Botafogo board preferred the experience that Oswaldo had having spent much of his coaching career in Brazil.
