Mario Mieli, a Roma official, was at Corinthians training on Friday to observe the ‘volante‘, but Milan remain favourites for his signature, with Sporting Director Ariedo Braida still in Brazil and expected to watch the encounter with Atlético Mineiro this Sunday.

Milan have seen plenty of positives from the Brazil international and hope he can come in to solve the problem of an ageing midfield.

Paulinho is 90% owned by investment firms, leaving Corinthians powerless to resist his departure. His owners, two companies with 45% each, are expected to accept a fee of €10-12 million for the player.
