Corinthians still remain top of the table, but after losing to bottom of table side América MG, the Paulista club missed out on a great opportunity to take another step closer to the Brasileirão trophy.

It was a game Corinthians were expected to win, but the Timão let in an Amaral free kick three minutes from time, losing the game 2-1.

Corinthians president, Andres Sanchez was far from impressed. He told Rede Globo, ”you must ask the players if they dont want to be champions. Were doing everything, but seem to be handing the championship away for free. We lacked will, race and dedication. Having three shots at goal is ridiculos.”

Corinthians will now be hoping to get back to winning ways next Sunday, when they face another team fighting against relegation, Atlético Paranaense.
