The Botafogo captain was disappointed with the crowds reaction after going a goal down to a Julio Cesar wonder strike. Despite Botafogo’s efforts to turn the result around, the Fogo fans grew inpatient with their side. After the game, Abreu told the press, ”The fans can complain after the game. During the game we need them to support us.”
The Botafogo boo boys targeted coach Caio Junior, but Abreu reminded them, ”Caio Junior has coached us through our best season since 95 (the year Botafogo won the league title). No team wins every game, only Barcelona.”
Botafogo will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face direct title and local rivals Vasco next Sunday.
