The player took to the social media site incensed at FIFA’s decision not to forfeit R$180 million to allow the World Cup to offer half-price tickets for students and the elderly.

“FIFA will make a profit of billions and do not want to pay a bill of $ 180 million? There must be half price tickets and those who must pay the bill are FIFA,” ranted the ’94 World Cup winning striker.

“Law is law and must be enforced. Brazil has to stop being a slave to FIFA. The sovereignty of the country must be respected.”

Romário is a known FIFA critic and was not going to miss this opportunity to let-fly.

” The general law of this World Cup is the following, guys. Brazil agree to something, then FIFA comes with another idea, and Brazil follows again.”
