Júlio César has been sent back to Milan to recover, after experiencing pain in the abductor muscle of his left-thigh.
Brazil team doctor, José Luiz Runco, confirmed the injury is not too serious, but that it is better for Júlio César to depart early and recover.
Jefferson will make his fourth appearance for Brazil in the last month, having appeared as a substitute against Costa Rica, following the two Superclássico de las Américas clashes with Argentina.
