The Brazilian midfielder scored the second goal as the Turkish giants beat Eskisehirspor 2-0 yesterday, taking his tally to three in his last three games.

“If I keep this run going, I’ll start thinking about becoming a striker!” he joked when speaking after the game.

Now, his target is to beat his highest number of goals scored in one season, with his record currently standing at the seven he managed for Almeria in 2007-08.

“I had a target to reach the seven goals I scored during my season with Almeria,” he said. “I am determined to achieve that, and with this excellent start, I think it is a bit easier.”

Melo is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Juventus, with Gala having the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
