The incident happened during the regional championships of New Green House, Andradina. The referee has been identified as Flavio Urbanjo, a former Military policeman, and the incident is believed to have happened at the start of the second afternoon match.

Police were on the scene but according to witness reports, they were called away to an occurance in the district and this is when the gunman took his opportunity. It was said he was on a motorcycle and fled the scene immediately and there has been no reports of arrest.

The second victim was Alfredo Barreto, 54, who died from his injuries in hospital later while Slavio Talasko, 20, survived after being shot in the leg.

It is unknown at this point whether the incident was planned and was solely centred around a football related disagreement and the police haven’t arrested anyone yet.

Witnesses said Civil Police were on the scene after the incident but failed to catch the man. The investigation is ongoing and Sambafoot will be the first to bring you more information on the incident.
