The Santos playmaker had to come off ten minutes into the match due to a thigh injury; thought to be a recurrance of a previous strain.
Ronaldinho was named in the starting line-up with him and he had hoped to spend more time on the pitch playing with the 21-year old.
Ronaldinho told reporters: “It is sad that I did get to spend more time playing next to Ganso.
“But hopefully there will be more chances in the future for us to play well together.”
The former AC Milan player wore the number 10 shirt last night, a number previously worn by Ganso. However, ‘Ron’ wants to hold on to this shirt and said it is nice to have the respect of the younger players in the squad.
He continued: “I am glad to be returning to the squad. I’m happy for this performance against Ghana and I hope I have time to establish myself in this shirt.
“Its always a new experience playing for the national team but I wouldn’t say I am the ‘Big Daddy’ in the group. No. Just a more experienced companion.
“It is nice to have the respect of the younger players and work alongside them.”
